Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these Policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Major Requirements

Student who desire licensure to teach mathematics in the secondary schools of North Carolina must complete, with a “C” or better, at least thirty-six semester hours in mathematics including

• MATH 224 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus III (4)
• MATH 333 - Linear Algebra (3)
• MATH 340 - Discrete Mathematics (3)
• MATH 341 - Probability and Statistics I (3)
• MATH 342 - Probability and Statistics II (3)
• MATH 441 - Introduction to Modern Abstract Algebra (3)
• MATH 443 - Topics in Geometry (3)
• MATH 453 - Methods of Teaching Secondary Mathematics (3)
• a capstone project
