Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these Policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Major Requirements

The requirements include the following music courses in addition to those required of all music majors:

• MUSC 327 - Organ Nomenclature (1) (instrumental or voice majors only)

• MUSC 429 - Church Music Philosophy and Administration (3)

• MUSC 438 - Service Music and Solo Literature (1)
• MUSC 457 - Practicum in Church Music (4)
• CHRS 125 - Introduction to Christianity (3)
• CHRS 202 - Old Testament Survey (3)
• CHRS 212 - New Testament Survey (3)

• CHRS 224 - Christian Ethics (3)

• Seven semesters of major applied study culminating with a half recital in the seventh semester are required.
