Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Major Requirements

The requirements include the following music courses in addition to those required of all music majors:

• MUSC 267 - Introduction to Electronic Music (1)
• MUSC 302 - Tonal Counterpoint (3)
• MUSC 401 - Orchestration (3)
• MUSC 402 - Forms and Analysis (3)
• MUSC 461 - Recital (1)
• Course of study requires 12 hours of free electives.
• Eight semesters of major applied study culminating with a full recital in the eighth semester are required.
