Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation and Undergraduate Academic Policies . As part of these policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Mathematics and the General College Curriculum

Successfully complete MATH 122 or two mathematics courses numbered 111 and above as selected by the major department.

Major Requirements

The candidate must complete, with a “C” average or better

ITS 250 - Programming Language I (3)

A Minimum of 39 Semester Hours in Mathematics

a minimum of 39 semester hours in mathematics, including

MATH 122 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus I (4)
MATH 223 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus II (4)
MATH 224 - Analytic Geometry and Calculus III (4)
MATH 280 - Introduction to Mathematical Reasoning (3)
MATH 333 - Linear Algebra (3)
MATH 341 - Probability and Statistics I (3)
MATH 342 - Probability and Statistics II (3)
MATH 441 - Introduction to Modern Abstract Algebra (3)
MATH 445 - Analysis (3)
with the remaining nine hours at the 300 level or above.

Note:

Students may receive advanced placement for MATH 122 or MATH 223 .
