Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Major Requirements

Candidates must complete, with a “C” average or better, at least 54 semester hours in the social sciences distributed as follows:

• 24 hours in political science
• 12 hours of history (HIST 111 -HIST 112 , HIST 221 -HIST 222 )
• six hours each in economics, geography, and sociology.

The political science courses must include the courses listed below and one course each in three of the five following areas: American government, public policy and administration, international studies, political thought, or constitutional development and 6 additional hours in political science.

• MATH 160 - Elementary Statistics (3)
