IMPORTANT: Additional Information Regarding the English Pre-Medical Track
Though the above pre-med courses are based on those required or recommended by most medical schools, students should check the specific requirements for each medical education program for which they hope to apply. Some schools may have slightly different application requirements; thus students following this academic track must work closely with their advisers.
This track requires students to earn a grade of “C” or higher in all English courses and in their science courses (biology, chemistry, and physics).
The MCAT is required for admission to medical school.
English/Pre-Med majors can significantly strengthen their medical school application with work experience in a medical setting (e.g., volunteer, CNA [certified nursing assistant], EMT, medical missions, etc.). Any work that includes patient contact is preferred.
