Degree Requirements


In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

Mathematics and the General College Curriculum


Successfully complete MATH 122  or two mathematics courses numbered 111 and above as selected by the major department.

Major Requirements


Students who desire licensure to teach mathematics in the secondary schools of North Carolina must complete, with a “C” or better, at least 39 semester hours in mathematics including

Admission Requirements for Teacher Education


In addition to general admission requirements for Campbell University, students seeking initial North Carolina Teacher Licensure must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program prior to their junior year. Admission requirements for Teacher Education include a 2.7 overall GPA, a grade of “C” or better on all content area and education courses and passing the Core Praxis Exam (or acceptable SAT/ACT scores). If a teacher education candidate does not meet the North Carolina Licensure established score on the SAT/ACT for admittance into the teacher education program, they are automatically enrolled in EDUC 106  and/or EDUC 107  in order to prepare for the CORE PRAXIS (Math and/or Reading).
