Degree Requirements

In addition to the requirements of the academic major, students must comply with the General Academic Regulations for Graduation  and Undergraduate Academic Policies .  As part of these policies, students must complete the General College Curriculum , which is based on the degree.

The Art Curriculum

The Department of Art offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Studio Art and Graphic Design. Minors in Studio Art and Graphic Design are also offered.

Major Requirements

In addition to the General College Curriculum requirements, students pursuing a major in Graphic Design must complete

• ART 131 - Introduction to Art (3)
• ART 201 - Drawing I (3)
• Take ONE (1): ART 202  or ART 203  
• ART 206 - Graphic Design I (3)
• ART 209 - Typographic Design (3)
• ART 231 - Art History I: Ancient to Gothic (3)
• ART 232 - Art History II: Renaissance to Postmodern (3)
• ART 301 - Drawing II (3)
• ART 307 - Graphic Design II (3)
• ART 308 - Graphic Design III (3)
• ART 465 - Internship (3)
• Take ONE (1): ART 212  or COMM 233
