CLNR 331 - Introduction to Genetic Medicine

This course will provide an overview/current information on the various applications of genetics to human health, medicine, and ethical research. Topics include basic concepts in gene expression and genomic variation, types of mutations, Mendelian inheritance, linkage, population genetics, and emerging technologies like CRISPR. This course will also cover the ethical and social implications of genetic research, genetic testing, and genetic counseling. Spring Prerequisite(s): BIOL 111
